A Candy Crisp Electro Rocker
Sohodolls just love a bit of role reversal with the girls firmly at the helm of this band, and yes, they're singing about a stripper. A raucous riot countered only by candy-coated vocals, 'Stripper' is a delightful electro-indie tune that will knock you dead and write all over you in lipstick with its menacing chorus. The echoing sighs of the verse and sweetly spoken vocals lull you into a false sense of security before the bitter keyboard sounds whip you into shape and thrashing guitars overcome your defences. Essentially 'Stripper' will search and find you and work its way forcefully into your brain; there's no way to avoid it.
A charismatic and foxy tune, Sohodolls are definitely on to something with this convincing number, with the remixes proving that their sound has a softer side, which they could also put to good use.
