Quirky popsters The Fiery Furnaces new song is 'Benton Harbour Blues' and it's quite gorgeous. The plinky organ/keyboard providing an underlying soul to the vocals, which softly whoosh and cascade and simmer overtop. It's catchy and persistent; the rhythm getting right through your skull and the tune really sticking to your ears.
Not quite 'Single Again', but still the very same foundation and style from whence that came. Alike to The Doors if they were making music in the mid-90s in France and Jim Morrison was a girl, if you know what I mean... Picture it and see that it isgood.
And see that 'Benton Harbour Blues' is good too, and you may have seen that already, but it's true. They are one of the more unique and interesting acts out there at the moment and this track proves that The Fiery Furnaces have enough of what it takes to cement themselves into now and hopefully to remain there until then...
