Happy happy joy joy

Taken from his debut album 'I Trust You To Kill Me', 'Colourful' is the new single from the son of Bo Diddley's touring guitarist Rocco DeLuca but fear not, despite the fact that he uses the blues favoured steel guitar this is by no means a blues song!

'Colourful' is a groovy little number that seems to have all the elements in place to be a summer hit. It's light and upbeat with a catchy chorus and really there's nothing to dislike, despite the lack of a hard edge it manages to convey an energetic feel. DeLuca has a fairly unique voice that covers a decent range and this really makes the track work. The song itself is uncomplicated but again that works in its favour, you don't have to concentrate too hard, it's easy to get into and it doesn't become boring although to be fair neither does it really excite.

All in all though a good song that bodes well for the album and it will be interesting to see if the rest of his material can retain the appeal of 'Colourful'.
