Angel City Outcasts - Deadrose Junction
"Deadrose Junction" is the new album from one of Los Angeles hottest bands; Angel City Outcasts. The energy and enthusiasm of the band are present from the start, it kind of makes me wish I was writing a gig review rather than listening to a CD.
Angel City Outcasts combine aspects from all their favourite genres including punk, hardcore and rockabilly to create a semi-unique sound. Their music is loud and upbeat infused with punk style lyrical story telling. Heavy guitar riffs really drive all the songs on this album.
After six fast songs, things get a little relaxed on 'Bleeding Heart Saloon' where we are treated to a Spanish guitar solo before the pace starts to pick up again. 'Horns N Halos' is the stand out track on the album. This is a true motor biking song that will make you wish you could just take of on a Harley with all your biker friends.
This album is a powerful hard hitter, but remains very upbeat and thanks to all the styles of music they have mashed together, it makes a very interesting listen and is bound to appeal to a lot of rock fans.
