The Best record of 2006? It quite possibly is, the summer is their's
Without a doubt one of the best records of 2006, if not the best, it sums up the year in my mind. Happy, unrestrained, colourful, full of life and completely profound, The Spinto Bands ˜Oh Mandy" is what songwriting has been all about in this strange and beautiful current musical culture we live in, and we love it! And if you don't, you should.
The quality of this single is such that it's truly deserving of complete saturation by airplay and by the end of the summer there shouldn't be a man or woman alive that has access to a radio but doesn't know the chorus of "Oh Mandy". But I guess it's not likely to happen!
Still, at least we'll all know that we've been privy to the coolest slice of summer since The Beatles sunshiny pop, and the great mass of people in their dictated-to musical diet are really really missing out. But here's hoping that "Oh Mandy" is the next "I Want To Hold Your Hand."
