Fun and Fresh
A hyperactive, manic onslaught of skittering fiddles, snappy guitar riffs and a deliciously catchy chorus, Larrikin Love have come up with the quirky, unruly playground anthem of the year as the chorus lyrics, "Children please beware, I'm choked with fear" soar. You just can't help but move to the frantic rhythm, with the chaotic, and unusual choice of instruments, Larrikin Love begins to sound like Arcade Fire on speed.
It's fantastic to hear a band that sound like they're having real fun (despite the disconcerting lyrics) and producing refreshingly original music at the same time. This is a bouncy, delightful single that bodes very well for the band's debut album, which is out later this month.
