Debut from indie hopefuls.

Despite their name clearly suggesting they are yet another band heavily influenced by The Cure, Inbetween Days sound more like they've revived the corpse of Britpop than overdosed on the 1980s. The double A-side 'Right Here Waiting'/ 'Single Thing' is the band's debut and follows tours with the likes of Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly and The Roger Sisters.

'Right Here Waiting' has a stomping rhythm propelling the song along, joined by Bloc Party-esque vocals interwoven with the charm of the mid-90's. The song is lively and likeable, and while it isn't destroying boundaries Inbetween Days are at least edging towards a more textured sound with influences from different eras.

'Single Thing' has a much more modern slant and sounds even more like Bloc Party, thanks to its more current melody and more obvious accent to the vocals. As a debut this shows some promise despite not being massively original, and if Inbetween Days build on what they've outlined here they could soon find their name on the lips of every card-carrying member of the indie crowd.
