Reel Big Fish return to the scene with a live album recorded on the Deep Freeze Tour in January 2006. 'Our Live Album Is Better Than Your Live Album' provides a refreshing break from the live albums that are dominated by cheers and shouts from the crowd. The Reel Big Fish boys have produced a live album of a really high quality, where you can hear every single word that is being sung. Not only that but it also doubles up as a fab greatest hits album.
This album has all the fan favourites 'Beer', 'Nothin'', 'Take On Me' and of course, 'Sell Out'. The stand out track on this track is definitely 'S.R. (the many versions of)' this is nine and a half minutes of musical mayhem. Reel Big Fish sing 'Suburban Rhythm' in a variety of different styles that "kick more asses". The song is rehashed into punk rock, death metal, blues, disco and country to name but a few. This one song perfectly highlights how good Reel Big Fish as a band and during live performances. It captures the full energy of the show, and their comedic style in the banter they have with each other.
The CD was recorded at numerous shows on the tour and has been seamlessly placed together so it sounds like it was recorded at the best show of the tour, one that went so well it was flawless. If you ever get the chance to see Reel Big Fish live you should definitely take up the opportunity, but while you're waiting for that buy this CD, crank the volume up and have fun dancing round your bedroom.

Also included with the two CDs is a live DVD recorded at the Alley in Fullerton, CA in March 2006. Although two CDs and DVD really does provide value for money, the DVD really lets things down. Once again the sound is great and you can see how talented and together Reel Big Fish are, but it's packed full of dodgy camera angles filmed on wobbly cameras. The Alley also appears to have a really small stage and at some points it looks quite odd, almost as if it has been filmed at a pub. The DVD really doesn't do Reel Big Fish justice but it's a must have for any fan.
