'Low Mode', high energy.

The phrase 'wouldn't say boo to a goose' has always seemed a bit puzzling. Why would anyone wish to do that to a goose and if they do, are they saying boo to show displeasure with the goose or is to elicit a state of surprise and shock from the animal?

All of these thoughts are merely distracting, yet anecdotal, introductions to the band Goose, and their single 'Low Mode', and its unlikely you'll want to be booing these boys.

In an attempt to maintain their own ratings and hip-factor, the NME have been billing Goose as the European Klaxons but this does both acts a disservice. Hailing from Belgium, there is a more credible link to Soulwax (2many djs) but the thumping electro and party setting tune, recalls Hot Chip and The Rapture as much as anyone. That said, 'Low Mode' more than stands up in its own right.

It doesn't wait about for an invitation to party, the thumping introduction carries through until the chorus adds a sense of urgency that manages to build and build. It is good in its own right but its screaming out for a remix to kick it on even further. If you've been liking the sound of 'Standing in the way of control', then this track is going to be pushing all the same buttons for you. The scrawling guitar fill halfway through fits in rather nicely and breaks the track up just before the chorus comes back for a welcome final bow.

With the UK launch of their album imminent, expect Goose to be blasting out this summer, its sure to be a good one.
