LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver

After much anticipation LCD Soundsystem returns with the new album 'Sound Of Silver'.

For those of you who liked the last album, here's a warning...you may not be to keen on this one. The band have gone down the shady road of pop and the album is packed full of lyrical hooks and repetitive percussion. At first it seems unique and quite clever but pretty soon it begins to grate. James Murphy the creator of LCD Soundsystem takes on several roles on this album, not only is he on vocal duty but he takes on practically all the musical roles that have gone into making this eighties sounding album. 'North American Scum' is probably the stand out track on the album the album, but I'm not sure it stands out for the right reasons, high pitch childlike yelps run from throughout which is annoying to say the least, but for some reason I can see it becoming a tour anthem. The final track 'New York I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down' sees James going full circle and heading back to his indie roots, which I suppose it makes this album a pretty good dance, rock hybrid.

James will probably be remembered in the dance music world for his production sense, but if this album is anything to go by I'm not sure he'll be remembered for much else.

'Sound Of Silver' has been highly anticipated by fans and critics, but people may have got their hopes up a tad too much because it's a disappointed.
