Potential Unfulfilled
Glasgow favourites Shitdisco have built up a reputation as a solid dance-punk band. Now they return with a third single, 'OK'.
Shitdisco don't attempt to be too deep and 'OK' is not different. It is light hearted and upbeat, although sadly they don't win any points for originality. 'OK' could easily be mistaken for Franz Ferdinand and there's nothing memorable about this sing. It's not necessarily bad, but it's not necessarily good, it is just like any other run of the mill, mediocre release. Musically they can't be faulted, lyrically they can't be faulted, the song is just bland. There is definite potential, Shitdisco have just got to realise what that potential is.
If the band carries on like this they will be remembered for their free parties not their music.
