Grech goes country.

Martin Grech returns with a single from his third forthcoming album "March of the Lonely", this time released on his own independent label Martin Grech Songs. The indie route seems to be working for him, as 'The Heritage' and 'Ashes Over Embers' are both excellent tracks. Both moody alt-country tunes, brimming with understated emotion but really memorable melodies.

'The Heritage' side A, is the 'heavier' and more energetic of the two and has the timeless feel of an old traditional song. 'Ashes Over Embers' is a spine-tingling track, just the basics of voice and acoustic guitar but with lovely echoey production. Because of the minimal instrumentation the tunes really rely on Grech's vocals and he doesn't let them down; his voice is beautiful and clear and injects plenty of emotion and even though both tracks are pared you never feel like there's anything missing because the tunes are so well written.
