Welsh Metal EP shows potential

First of all this is the first time I've had to pay to review a band. I will rephrase that, I mean out beloved postie dropped a note thru the door saying I owed nearly £2 for a parcel which I had no recollection of ordering. It turns out to be from these fellow Welsh cheapskates

AOV have finally had this album remixed and included an extra tracks from the original 12 months ago. The new cd, sounds much cleaner and polished and is an overall improvement. 'Epilogue' is a lengthy classic rock track and takes its influences straight from Alter Bridge, UK Creed sounding Logan, and touches of Californee rockers, Incubus. By far the best song they have set to cd to date. The song is punchy, pulsating, even Maiden-like in some of its guitar work. This is the song which should open some major doors for AOV.

1914 from the original has now become 1916. Again the production values have made this version 'sing'. Great vocals, harmonies and still a standout track

Another new song is from the youngsters is 'Take My Pride' and is a fast, grinding song in the Killswitch Engage style. 'Old Nick' still embodies the 90's grunge era with is detuned guitars and Eddie Vedder vocals

Hate to Love has been dropped from the original and is a wise choice as this was the weaker of the three original songs. AOV have obviously been practicing their songwriting/production skills as the newer, stronger version is a great improvement on 12 months ago. AOV now have 4 very strong songs on which to base their future career on.

I don't need to add too much in this re-mastered and improved version, as most of the positives mention above still ring true. If the band continue at this rate of expansion and improvement then who knows what the next year will bring them.

Da Iawn.
