Think:Fire have certainly been busy in the past 18 months, gigging around the country and sharing stages with such bands as Funeral For A Friend, Say Anything, Fightstar and The Used. Their debut EP ‘Swings and Roundabouts’ shows something quite impressive in this band. They’re definitely going for the ‘Funeral, ‘Kids In Glass Houses’ sound, with their striking melodies, soaring riffs and hushed passages. There’s even a guest appearance from ‘Kids In Glass Houses’ frontman Aled Phillips on ‘They Shape Shift’

They actually remind me of an old Deep Elm band called ‘Brandtson’. In the same way these guys definitely know how to write a pop song, and you can hear already how quickly they’re going to catch on, although there’s nothing exceptionally new and innovative there’s still a spark about them and they can certainly write emotional, and catchy radio friendly tracks. One rarity is that this EP is recorded really well, it sounds polished and it sounds professional.
It definitely wont be long before ‘Swings and Roundabouts’ appears on the musical radar and at the moment is being championed on the Radio 1 rock show.
I am in no doubt that Think:Fire will be huge. Although they might be another simple, emotional rock group writing songs with great hooks, they have something that many new bands lack, and that is a very good EP.
