Melodious rock.

Ten City Nation are so tight they must have their arse cheeks stapled together; it’s hard to believe this is their debut single. The tracks featured here, especially ‘Exhibition Time Again’ manage to be tautly constructed yet at the same time melodic, heavy, exciting and intensely danceable. Their tunes have the dark moodiness of QOTSA, the melodic clarity of early Feeder and the fuzzy intensity and ethereal epic quality of Oceansize.

Their sound is huge and the production is perfect for their melodic yet fuzzy sound, these are all hugely listenable tracks but with an emotional depth and heaviness that stops them being ordinary. The atmospherics of all three tracks carry you away; sliding between genres they coat their sound decades of rock, taking in punk, stoner rock and grunge amongst other things but retaining their own sound throughout. I can’t say enough good things about this band, they deserve to be huge.
