Does It Offend You, Yeah? - We Are Rockstars

Reading quartet Does It Offend You, Yeah? are currently wowing fans on the NME tour, but for those of you who couldn’t get tickets you can still hear the band via the release of their new single ‘We Are Rockstars’.

‘We Are Rockstars’ most powerful feature is the continuous looping riff that plays over and over again, lodging itself deep inside your brain. Frontman James’s vocals have a distorted electro sound that ring out over a fuzzy bassline, and instead of what having a noticeable vocal chorus the DIOYY guys have decided to use the looping riff as the focal feature in this track.

If you love your French dance music then these guys are the band for you, they could happily share a stage with Daft Punk or SebastiAn. Although ‘We Are Rockstars’ does have a really strong French vibe there is still something about the track that screams “We are British!”. It’s a solid track from Does It Offend You, Yeah? and it could easily fill the dance floor at any dance or indie club, but it doesn’t have a universe appeal and I think that will be the downfall of these four lads.
