Dated
Occasionally music is released that is before its time but rarely do you come across music that is out-of-date, out-dated, past it’s sell-by-date etc. Jim Noir happens to be like someone plucked from the 60’s rock faze. Taken from amongst the likes of the Kinks, The Doors, The Beatles and tossed into a modern scene which makes him look out of place, rather old-fashioned and quite boring. In truth it’s doubtful to see the music loving public embracing a sound that is so very much played out. His music is incredibly dated and just doesn’t come across as exciting. We’ve heard it all before.
Credit will be given, where credit is due and it is admirable to see a one-man-band nowadays. It’s such a rare commodity and in truth it’s an expression of how talented Jim Noir actually is. All that said, it’s safe to say that music of today is looking to the future and not to it’s past for pioneering and exhilarating inspiration.
