Hotter than Hell

As laughable as power metal can sometimes be certain bands can make you sit up and make you listen, Firewind certainly do that. After carving up an impressive reputation in Japan they look set to conquer the world.

Opening track "Kill To Live" has a Megadeth groove the Halford-like vocals of Sri Lankan native Chity Sompala. Instrumental "Feast Of The Savages" ironically comes ex-Megadeth guitar virtuoso Marty Friedman who appears on this record as guest. The backbone of the band comes from guitarist Gus G. who has cut his teeth other European acts such as Nightrage, Mystic Prophecy and Dream Evil.

Albeit this record can be a little corny and has the token power ballads of "Hate World Hero" and "Land of Eternity", but its delivery in sound is extraordinary.

As much of an acquired taste power metal is Firewind are certainly onto a winner here.
