Mono Taxi - We Wanna Have Some Real Fun
London indie pop duo Mono Taxi are back with their third single ‘We Wanna Get Some Real Fun’ and are hoping that people will want to have some fun with them when they hit the road next month.
‘We Wanna Get Some Real Fun’ is upbeat and fun and is powered along by a nice, but simple drumline. One of the best things about this track is the dual vocals, the male and female vocal work give the song a melodic edge but also make it stand out from everything else being released at this time.
Lyrically it is incredible simple, you can pick up the chorus straight away and you will soon catch yourself singing along. The B-side sounds pretty different to the single, the music is softer and simpler, and has a whole different appeal. On this track Ellice’s voice really reminds me of Susan Surandon’s voice in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which for some reason I find it gives the song quite a nice quality.
I have the feeling that ‘We Wanna Get Some Real Fun’ will hang around all summer.
