Is it pop? Is it indie? Who cares - it's good!
Pop music. A term most modern music lovers try to disassociate themselves from, but no one’s sure why. In the right hands, pop music can be, well, like The Beatles. It’s what everyone remembers in those ‘I remember the 60s/70s/80s’ shows • the soundtrack to a childhood. And I think in years to come, The Feeling will be part of this generation’s musical memories. Hooray for the return of decent pop music! And hooray for not having to pretend you’re above those sorts of things!
Although probably not as strong as former offerings, the combination of catchy melody, tuneful harmonies, and memorable lyrics stand well away from the line of sickly-sweet and over-produced. Expect to hear this ad infinitum on the radio for a long time yet. And don’t complain about hearing it too much, because you’ll miss it when it’s gone. It’s official: pop music is cool again.
