Leon Jean Marie - Bring It On

Taken from his debut album, Bent Out Of Shape, Leon Jean Marie releases new single Bring It On. Hailing from East London, Leon Jean Marie, has come through hip hop roots to now produce indie pop style.

When the song firsts starts it immediate reminds you of Steve Miller's 1982 song Abracadabra, which is not necessarily a good thing. The Abracadabra beat never goes away which does give it the feel it has been over produced by Mark Ronson, leaving Leon Jean Marie’s talents hidden away.

The hip hop routes are there if only just in small doses. The song does move up a gear or two for the chorus but sadly I just could not stop wanting to sing Abracadabra all the way through.

Having said that it is far better than the recent releases from this genre and with a big label, major tour support slots like Mika and the recent O2 Wireless Festival behind him and some major appearances like V Festival ahead of him he could easily bring it on to this genre for many years to come.
