Modern Clichés - Falseness & Fairytales

From the minute this Ep began, I had a series of déjà vu moments for the familiarity the opening track made with me. After recently becoming across an unknown band, The Thirst, ‘You Don’t Know What You Want To Be’ is extremely familiar of one of their singles, ‘My Everything’; it is just as catchy.

With an indie vibe this record continues with a little soul and vocals that have a sly and unnerving element about them. They sound unrehearsed and effortless. This method of thought develops through ‘Falseness & Fairytales’, a slower and more melodious tune. The third track on this small release, ‘Exactly The Same As Always’ follows with a melody driven emotional ride with a slower start but an upbeat and full-blown instrumental.

So minus the fact that the first track was so familiar to that from another band, the guys have pulled together three fairly diverse songs.
