Sway to the Kooks
The Kooks are a band that I was so irritated by at first and then found a passion in their music,something in their sound that was unique and I finally began to enjoy. ‘She Moves in Her Own Way’ became a must have on my player, then came ‘Ooh La’ and ‘Naïve’, but after these three songs, the guys were never really able to impress me.
This song however is able to do the trick. Where ‘She Moves in Her Own Way’ and other songs from this time period were intriguing for their catchy little choruses and snappy beats, this one is interesting in all its own special ways. Taken from the band's second album ‘Konk’, a title as odd as any I have heard, the new single ‘Sway’ is a musical masterpiece. There are warm guitars; about half way through there are some soulful strings that really make an impact, especially when they accompany the electric guitar for a solo.
