Blissfully brilliant
Taken from the third studio album from The Academy Is… titled ‘Fast Times at Barrington High’, the new single ‘Summer Hair = Forever Young’ is another ingenious tune.
When it comes to the tunes that The Academy Is… creates, there is always something that unites listeners and band; a hook, repetition of a line or just an amazing chorus. In the case of this song being the latter. This one may be less bouncy than some of the tunes they have recorded over the last few years, but it has one heck of a chorus that will get the crowd up and jumping along; I actually know this from personal experience.
William Beckett has an amazing vocal range; pop with an edge. When singing, it feels like he sings to the listener, into ones soul and it is this aspect that gets you caught up and engaged within the song. If the album is as wonderful and captivating as this song, bring it on!
