Great Days Ahead

Florence and the Machine are probably one of the biggest success stories of late 2008, being name-checked by all the biggest music aficionados. ‘Dog Days Are Over’ is a jubilant, driven pop tune that’s brimming with sparkling keys and Florence’s trademark rich, vibrant 60’s style soulful vocals. To be fair, Florence’s vocals would probably make any tune this wonderful, which is what she proves on the next track, a cover of ‘You’ve Got The Love’, which is stark, beautiful and simply glorious with rippling arpeggios and sumptuous vocals.

Catch Florence out on the road next year on the NME Awards Tour, a major ritual for up and coming indie acts that is sure to make or break the act, let’s hope that it’s the former for this talented musician.
