Speed Circus - Rosie EP

Following a very successful support slot on the last The Rifles UK tour, Speed Circus release their debut EP "Rosie" which showcases perfectly their fusion of a multitude of different styles which includes rock, punk, indie, reggae, ska and even some rhythm and blues, which is a lot to pack in to six tracks.

The one thing that hits you immediately is the feel good nature of the songs even when the subject matter is not particular upbeat as in the EP's opener, 'Rosie', which sings about being lonely. The opener may have been a standard indie style but it is when 'Soldier On', the second track is played in full that the different styles come out. It starts in the same vein as the opener but then for the last two plus minutes it moves seamlessly into a reggae song.

The wonderful diversity continues with the fun drinking song 'Jose Cuervo' and the rocky come ska 'Power Struggle'. The Caribbean feel continues with 'Dubwise' with its traditional reggae bass line in full flow. The EP finishes off with the chilled out vibe of 'I Know You Can Hear Me'.

This seven piece from London have all the talent to be the Madness of the 21st century and with nearly 25 minutes of material, have made this EP a great addition to any music library.
