Exlovers - 3 Track EP
Initial reaction of this three track sampler from London band Exlovers is that you want to grab hold of them and say stop playing such depressing music. But come the second and third listens, it hooked me into its soft entrancing rhythms with real life lyrics.
The haunting boy girl vocals from Pete and Laurel work their magic on these tunes which will leave you either wanting to push the skip button or chilling out to the vibe they seem to create, hard to imagine a middle ground here. 'The Ruins' kicks things off at a nice gentle pace with lyrics that my ex lover would no doubt agree with. The same feel continues with 'SOF' and onto 'Weight Less' although the latter does have a little more edge to the finish of the song than the previous two.
The five piece are shockingly still unsigned but despite that have released a limited edition, only 200 copies, four track EP which these three songs all feature on. Well there is one less now.
