T in The Park has oficially launched for its 11th year today during a press conference in Glasgow.

The festival is scheduled for 10th and 11th of July this year and will return to Balado by Kinross. This years event, according to CEO of DF Concerts, will hopefully see a capacity of 60,000 festival-goers per day.

The Scottish music industry has seen a boost recently with bands such as Biffy Clyro breaking through to the mainstream at the same time as England's Download Festival adding a second leg in Sctoland.

Today The Strokes, N*E*R*D, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol and the hottly-tipped Dogs Die in Hot Cars have been announced alongside the existing line up - this brings ten well known bands already confirmed.

Currently five stages have been announced, The Main Stage, NME Stage, King Tut's Tent, Slam Tent and the T Break Stage for showcasing the latest new Scottish talent.

Tickets are on sale now from T in the Park's website.
