If you caught one of the shuttle buses from Leeds city center to the Carling Weekend site this august then you will have helped to raise £10,000 for charity.

Organisers from Mean Fiddler and Geldards Coaches in Yorkshire took a percentage of cash from each ticket during the weekend, which they will now donate to terminally ill children at the local St Martin's Hospice.

The two organisations, who decided to run buses to and from the festival as part of their ecologically friendly policy, will present a cheque to the Hospice on November 24.

30% of festival goers used the buses to and from the site over the August bank holiday weekend, a figure way above the national average.
