British soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae tops the list, which is compiled from the votes of a hundred music critics and broadcasters.
Along with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Feeling, Plan B and Guillemots are all tipped in the Sound of 2006 pole.
London rapper Sway, 16 year old US R&B star Chris Brown, Marcus Hernandez, Kubb and Welsh rock teens The Automatic complete the top ten.
KT Tunstall, The Bravery and Kaiser Chiefs made last year's list. Keane, Franz Ferdinand, the Scissor Sisters and 50 Cent all appeared in previous Sound of... lists before hitting the big time.
The debut album from Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is due out this month.
