Iron Maiden say they are likely to begin writing for a new album before the end of the year.

“We’re gonna take the rest of this year off. We’re gonna write in November/December and then go to record the new album in January next year,” drummer Nicko told Planet Rock.

In an interview to be broadcast over the May bank Holiday weekend on the classic rock radio station, he also says that a new tour should follow soon after the record comes out.
