After hibernating during the cold spell, we are back with Band of the Week once again, although now it is going to be a monthly occurrence we have decided to call it Band of the Month, which we here at R13 Towers thought was a very clever title change (if we were politicians it would have cost the taxpayer thousands in coming up with that new name)!

Enough rambling, who is the very first Band of the Month? Well, it is none other than Welsh rockers, Recluse. Our very own Sian Jennifer Smith has even gone as far as saying “they could do for indie what Black Sabbath did for metal”, in a recent review, high praise indeed. We would also like to congratulate Recluse for being the first band recommending themselves as an unsigned band on myspace they recommend!

As always with our band of the Week / Month / Century, we will put up a track of the band on our myspace page for your listening pleasure www.myspace.com/r13mag

For now here is more info on our current BotM, Recluse:

Bio:
Recluse are a three piece rock band from South Wales. They formed in July 2008 and have been interestingly described (by keen gig-goers) as sounding like 'Queens of the Stone Age getting molested by Smashing Pumpkins' and 'Early Nirvana kissing Kyuss whilst secretly thinking about Pearl Jam'.
They recorded their debut EP in March 2009 entitled 'Baby Monster' at Musicbox studios in Cardiff which they promoted around the UK (This can be downloaded for free from BandCamp - www.recluse.bandcamp.com)
In January 2010 they recorded four new tracks at Terra Firma Studios in Newport for the next EP 'Transient' due to be released in the Spring of 2010.
