August, the height of summer, "schools out", to quote a Mr A Cooper, who was amazing at Sonisphere by the way, so we here at R13 decided to go for a nice band which the whole family can enjoy together (David Cameron would be proud of us). So, with that we take great pleasure in introducing our August Band of the Month, Subset.

I am sure the prime minister will be even happier to hear that Subset are back to basics type of band, they play loud, hard and quite frankly, pretty damn well. There is real talent in this four piece and they don’t let you down with their live show either.

We let front man, Romain Daste, tell us all about their family values and hope Mr Cameron pays particular attention to the final question:

Bio:
Subset formed in 2009 in a pub's toilets after a mammoth-normous drinking session while listening to loud punk, talking shit, pissing and reading stupid flyers posted on dirty greasy walls

Members:
Robert Robertson (guitars), ‘Lovely’ Steve Higgs (drums), Jay Garrett (bass), Romain Daste (guitars and singer)

Influences:
fucking loud screaming feedback, collapsed speakers, electrified microphones, broken car windscreen glass and motor bike accidents

Sounds Like:
a bunch of insane lesbian giraffes surfing on acid

Current release and where it's available:
eponymous "Subset" EP (Sunbathers) available on HMV.com and I-Tunes, "But We Barely Know Each Other" single on HMV.com and I-Tunes and our next single "Ambrosia" will be out this month on HMV.com and I-Tunes.

Up and coming artists you would recommend:
Jeremy Clarkson's mum, Aurore's (my girlfriend’s) cat "Alberto" who is about to graduate from Long Moustache University, The Secret Rhino Wollard

Future Plans:
Going back to the future and destroying Facebook

Tour Dates:
4th August London, Purple Turtle
8th August Luton, Love Music, Hate Racism
13th August Cambridgeshire, Floods Tavern
21st August Dunstable Festival
6th September Wolverton, Crauford Arms
20th September London, The Gaff
2nd October Leighton Buzzard, The Wheatsheaf
3rd December Luton, The Heights
4th December Watford, The Flag

If you were the prime minister for one day, what would you do:
I would get Joe Pesci the Deputy PM because he seems like the kind of guy who gets things done! I would then open up #10 & #11 for the best squat party on record!
