With the success of the 2009 Facebook campaign which saw Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing in the Name' reach Christmas Number One, another group has been launched in a bid to stop The X Factor's monopoly on festive charts.

'Nirvana For Christmas No. 1' has been launched in response to the show's refusal to change one of the group's name - Rythmix - as it is being used for a Brighton based charity which uses music to help young people.

Organisers behind the campaign have said: "This year the X Factor have decided to effectively bully a children's charity. Well, fuck you, X Factor. We're going to download the Nirvana classic 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' to stick the proverbial finger up at you. Who's in?"

The group, which currently has over 12, 000 members, can be found here.
