Wolves in Lordis's clothing.

The crowd are packing in fast into the Snickers Stage tent, and as the atmosphere is set by the sinister whispering of a hallowed curse, the Snickers Stage tent swells with the atmosphere of anticipation. As Lordi strike up, it almost feels like the roof could lift under the extreme force of the thundering guitars. The stage is soon graced with the lead singer, who comes dressed in a shamanic wolf pelt and comes bearing vocals that howl and grate enough to become a suitable competitor against the creature he wears. Lordi's stage presence is intense, hallowed and sinister as the music they play. The atmosphere becomes as mystical as the sheer strength this powerful band hold over the audience. Lordi have a sense of intrigue and grace bordering on an almost divine quality. The beautiful vocal melodies wave over the entire arena, followed by the guitars and bass which are always one step behind. It is usually the greatest downfall of a metal band to have a vocalist that seems to work away from the way the rest of the band works but Lordi are one of those very rare and unique exceptions.

So God-like are this band to its audience that one member takes a leap of faith on to the stage and pays worship to his God in his own way. Amused, the band carries on with a mind blowing performance and kick in with some sinister organ-synth led creation. Echoing like a choir of unholy demons, Lordi really do keep packing the punch with more force than can be clutched within an iron fist. The result of this is incredible force combined with sheer skill and power, ensuring that whether they play a ballad, or rage through in true power metal fashion, Lordi will always rise to meet the expectations of their audience. With great stage presence, impressive costume and audience communication, Lordi have all the musical skills and communication techniques needed to keep them firmly in the music scene for an incredibly long time. Sinister, mysterious and haunting - yet incredibly intriguing, Lordi have become a firm hit with all of us at the Snickers Stage today, setting a standard that others may find difficult to surpass as their highlights ‘Children of the Night’ and ‘Destroyer’ fully demonstrate.
