Hurricane Party '05

Now we are talking about some serious stuff: Hurricane Party. When I heard about them they were described as the next generation of AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and all the bands in the same category. It is quite a risqué comparison- all the more when you know that these guys are only in their twenties.

Well I must admit that the comparison is well deserved- they rock! They have the look, they have the style, they have the lyrics, they have the music, they have the presence and they have the charisma: to sum up they have it all!
No wonder these guys are nominated for a Metal Hammer award, or that they were a support act for Nickelback or Status Quo.

At first I thought that the guitarists were the spiritual kids of AC/DC lead guitarist Angus Young and the singer was the re-incarnation of Steven Tyler. You might think that this is all exaggerated, but this band is just brilliant, excellent...Amazing! (I'll leave it at that!)

They have an extraordinary maturity that appears in their songs. Their sound is really pure old-school classic rock/heavy metal. It's powerful because the riffs are enchanting, the drummer is brilliant just as the bass player and the lead guitarist must have been born with his guitar. This sound is perfect. They had such an extraordinary energy and they enjoyed themselves the whole time meaning each and every song sounds great, and I can tell you that the crowd saw that. Ritchie (vocals) was amazed by the crowd's response and just thanked everyone. London has the best audience? Hell yeah!

Because it was their last date of the tour, at the end of the show they came back for a final tune... Not not alone. They were accompanied with the two other bands that were playing that night. It was the highlight of the night since they were all singing, spreading their beers all over the audience and just having fun. So if you were not there and want to discover how they sound, then their EP 'Get This' is out now.
