On Fire

Colour Of Fire get a good crowd at the Napster stage, it's not packed but it's certainly healthy and those that made the effort will be glad they did.

They start a little slowly, the sound is tinny and the first couple of tracks are mid paced and whilst catchy are not outstanding. By the third song however things are coming together, the band grows in confidence and although they do lack a little in terms of stage presence, the music is infectious. From here on in each song betters its predecessor.

Chugging riffs are layered with clean melodic vocals that work particularly well in the harmonies. Colour Of Fire deliver a solid performance that has no doubt won them some new friends. In quieter moments (and particularly when the vocals go falsetto) they resemble Muse but they have enough of their own sound in other areas to carry it off.

With one album (2004's 'A Pearl Necklace for Her Majesty') already, the future's looking bright for Colour Of Fire. Strict stage times mean they get no longer than their allotted half hour but it's been well used and they finish with an impressive number of epic dimensions. Good stuff!
