Rock you like a Hurricane

Now this is going to be interesting, with Hurricane Party's rhythm guitarist having broken his wrist it is left to their manager to stand in (off stage) and fill in the guitar parts! To his credit he does an admirable job although he would have looked out of place on the stage, mainly because Hurricane Party look very similar to Guns and Roses, in fact they not only look like them but they sound much like them as well. Not that this is a bad thing by any means, you are instantly hit by their power and their showmanship, they work the stage like seasoned pro's and in terms of music they are the real deal when it comes to good old fashioned rock and roll.

Twice as loud as any other band I've seen today they certainly make an impression. The tent is packed to capacity meaning that the door is operating on a 'one in one out' policy, nobody else on this stage gets that kind of support. Hurricane Party have everything in place, big hair, leather, plenty of posturing and some quite outstanding guitar work, all topped off with big, big choruses. It's all very polished but it's also infectious, pompous yes, boring no.

They do the obligatory call and answer session with the crowd and pull it off admirably. It's nothing new but it's all good and when it's done this well they more than get away with it. Despite his broken wrist the rhythm guitarist is not going to miss out on all the fun and joins in on backing vocals. The crowd love it, Hurricane Party love it and half an hour is over all too soon.
