The set of the night

A muted version of the traditional chant of "The View, The View, The View are on fire" greeted the band as they came on stage, I've seen much more vocal welcomes for The View but they were playing to other band's fans as well as their own. Respect is definitely due though for any band that uses ACDC as entrance music, The View chose to follow the example of Metallica and make their appearance to 'It's A Long Way To The Top'.

The View's set was the stand out of the night and opened as debut album 'Hats Off To The Buskers' does with 'Comin' Down'. The first noticeable mass crowd sing-along of the night came for 'Wasted little DJs' which was played early in the set. The setlist also featured B-side 'Posh Boys'.

Top ten smash 'Same Jeans' was left for the end with the band rounding off with previous single 'Superstar Tradesman'.

With the chant of "The View, The View, The View are on fire" being considerably louder as they left the stage than when they arrived that was evidence straight away that this was a job well done for The View.

They swapped places with the Automatic and headlined the Glasgow date of the tour and could have held their own as the bill topper for the rest of the dates and will be selling out Brixton Academy on their own before long. Prepare yourself for catching the View at a festival near you this summer as they're gonna be everywhere.
