Back With A Bang

What do you get when you mix a stage, guitar, drum kit, double bass and hundreds of loyal supporters with piercings, tattoos...it can only be the Tiger Army show at London's Islington Carling Academy. Whether speaking of the latest material or the band in general, their story can be summed up in one word - perseverance. With members having been shot and changed, situations like these would have finished other bands, yet still Tiger Army can rock a stage like no other.

The guys first toured London in 2002, and again in 2005 and 2006. This year they return stating, "London is the best place to play!" Tonight, their stage presence was amazing. They rocked out, played their instruments amazingly and sang their hearts out. The audience got to hear various songs from their previous albums, as well as some new material from the forthcoming release. They even got the audience involved in the gig; not by screaming, but by asking them what songs they want to hear. The fans shouted songs from the range of albums and got to hear some of their favourites; the song that received the most responses (screams) was then played.

They may have only been on stage for 80 minutes or so, but in that short a time, they made everyone stand up and take note of their music. The encore was especially note worthy, as they seemed to get better as the night went on. The songs were much more in tune, the title of the tracks got much more bizarre and the playing got louder and louder which just made the crowd rowdier. A mixture of booze and amazing music gave Tiger Army enthusiasts a night they will not be forgetting in a long time.

If you haven't been able to catch them on tour, or listened to their previous music, why not check out the new album, 'Music From Regions Beyond' when it's released in June.
