An unforeseen surprise

When Stars of the Search Party took to the small stage at O2 Islington 2 Academy they became the unexpected surprise for the evening. Consisting of half a dozen hairy fellas jumping, shouting and sweating on stage, they shocked, yet enticed, the crowd with their darkened alternative rock style.

Although the style they bought to the stage on this evening's set differed to that of the main act and their foremost support, it really caught the ear of the crowd as they performed tracks from their EP including 'Flashlights', 'The Culprit' and 'See You In Strasbourg'. Even though they were not the act everyone had bought a ticket to come and see, music lovers could not deny the six sweaty men performing their appreciation. A few moments that particularly got both crowd and band working together, were when "fingers in the air" was encouraged, index fingers rose above the crowd and everyone got boogying.

Stars of the Search Party is currently on a Dirty South tour and will be returning to this very venue on 22nd September to support Scottish six piece Yashin. If they can create even half as much hype at this gig, then they are well and truly on the road to something big.
