Not a foot or a note wrong

Third band up and main support, the five boys from Bridgend casually organised themselves on The Underworld stage. All looking young and innocent, especially lead singer Michael Simmonds who, dressed in light colours with his neat haircut, looked as though butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. The music started with a flurry and then he started to sing. To say looks can be deceiving is an understatement! Colours of One are not the poppy rock boy band that their looks imply, rather they are pure unadulterated hard rock.

Simmonds voice is full and powerful, drawn from the heart and piercing to your soul. Drummer Paul Jones is a blur of raw power and emotion, while the rest exude infectious energy backed by undeniable talent.

It's a rare thing when a band makes you feel alone in a crowd, but tonight, Colours Of One did just that. They captured my attention and triggered such sheer joy from watching them that I lost track of where I was and who was around and was simply captivated by the music. I'm sure that everyone else in the room felt the same.

From start to end they were note perfect, debuting two new songs and still sounding like they'd been playing together for decades. This is a band that obviously clicks and really comes in to their own live on stage, doing their thing.

If you're a fan of music, especially if you enjoy the melodic hard rock variety that's full of depth and passion, then watch out for Colours Of One. They won't disappoint you.
