Bedford Falls at Swn 2011

Erring more on the indie side of punk-rock (and drawing comparisons to The Lemonheads amongst others), Cardiff four piece Bedford Falls, second on the bill of this punk filled night at Undertone on the first day of Swn Festival, play a set of more gentle, wistful tunes than most on the bill tonight but they have great melodies and choruses that keep the crowd listening and they don't seem out of place on the line-up.

Front man Tom provides, (as well as a warm vocal delivery), some light-hearted, occasionally caustic and always self-depreciating on stage banter to relax and draw in the audience and bassist Kate provides lovely vocal harmonies to back him up. A real highlight of the set is 'Temperancetown', a super catchy and sweetly melodic track with a fantastic main riff (from the album "Savings & Loan") but there is plenty more where that came from; the set as a whole is full of winners, their sound easily filling the venue and they draw a decent crowd even so early in the evening.
