Alesana on tour!

Alesana planed a four-date tour across the UK this February, but it is doubtful they thought it would be as successful as this.

When they took to the stage at Camden's Electric Ballroom they were welcomed gracefully and very loudly by a mad, music loving crowd that after having just gone nuts over support band We Came As Romans, were ready for more madness, more music and more mayhem than they had ever experienced. The fans went bonkers, crowd surfing, shouting lyrics and running rings around each other to showing their enjoyment, enthusiasm and dedication to the band. Everyone seemed to lose themselves for an hour or so in the music that was heard.

One, if not the most significant and entertaining elements about the set performance by Alesana was the theatrical aspect that came across. There were some moments when lead vocalists Shawn Milke and Dennis Lee were almost putting on a persona on stage, leaping about and almost acting at times, going from singing to rolling about on the stage and using guitars as props. It was quite notable that Shawn was really getting into the music by the way he projected the lyrics, almost feeling the words and playing on them. It was great to see the band have a blast preforming their songs to an awaiting British public.

There was not one individual element that made this evening special, unique or particularly memorable. It was the combination of fast paced music, the personalities of the six musicians on stage and the manner in which their music was not only enjoyed and well received by the crowd but also the way they reciprocated this appreciation back to the band through sing-alongs, screams, hand claps, crowd surfing and the simple admiration upon their faces.

Overall, Alesana outstandingly gave the crowd one heck of a night of music.
