Straight Lines Rock Out!

South Wales quartet Straight Lines began their musical journey three years ago from the ashes of Said Mike. Since their progression into Straight Lines their sound has developed, their crowd following has increased greatly and they have toured with many brilliant bands such as Kids In Glass Houses, The Automatic, The Blackout, Young Guns and most recently Canterbury. On the last night of Canterbury's current tour of the UK, Straight Lines took to the stage and rocked out as though this was their own headline show.

Their debut album Persistence in this Game was full of rocking, popping tunes but to see them performed live on stage to a screaming crowd of a few hundred or so musically adoring individuals, their sound tended to have a much more rock than pop sound. Although the sharpness of the tracks was very strong and the guitar elements became a main focus, unfortunately they did tend to overpower the excellent vocals of lead singer Thomas Jenkins at times.

It appears the last three weeks on tour with Canterbury has certainly agreed with Straight Lines. The dedication and energy these guys put into their performance was first class; their energetic guitar playing and rock-out mid sections heightened the music and then the crowd went ballistic to top it all off; this was a great thing to see live and to be apart of.

Showcasing their music on this stage gave fans of Straight Lines another taste and those that had never seen or hear of Straight Lines before, a glimpse into the sound of the band and what can be expected from the upcoming second album.
