Presenting My Extraordinary
Newcastle based band My Extraordinary took to the stage at the O2 Academy 2 Islington prepared to give the crowd a night of good music...and they did just that.
The style of music presented by My Extraordinary in this set was different to the other bands playing that evening. The songs they performed tended to have gentler verses, they were melodious, calm and slightly reserved yet when it came to the choruses, these were explosive with sound and energy.
My Extraordinary is confident in what they do and they do it well. They are passionate performers who really give the set everything they can. This is particularly notable for lead singer and guitarist Anthony. On their performance of Why Save The World he handed back his guitar and took to just standing at the microphone but still managed to show his desire to achieve a great performance through his constant fist thumping movements, various other hand gestures and his constant movement in general - he has a bop in his step at every moment. He really tried to get the crowd participating, whether it was singing along or jumping in most instances which they were able to achieve on some occasions.
Although not the most breath-taking performance of the evening, My Extraordinary made a positive impact on the crowd.
