Bullet For My Valentine - World Tour 2013

It is fair to say Bullet For My Valentine copped a hefty whack of negative press for their latest album Temper Temper, so I was interested to see what they brought to the Roundhouse and if they could cut it as a live band.

Much like when I saw the band several years ago, Bullet For My Valentine were welcomed to the stage to deafening cheers and screams, and it wasn't long before a circle pit was formed, and their adoring fans moshed their way through Waking The Demon.

It was obvious throughout that the band's older material received a much better response from the crowd, it would be easy to say it is because their old material is much stronger, but I think it actually came down to familiarity with the music. There was a huge applause when Halestorm's Lzzy joined the band to perform Dirty Little Secret, which gave the song an interesting twist.

Bullet For My Valentine's setlist was well thought through and structured, it had a good mixture of songs; old and new, and featured tracks such as The Last Fight which slowed the tempo down giving everyone a chance to catch their breath.

Bullet For My Valentine seemed as professional and as sleek as ever, they could have benefited from playing a greater percentage of older songs but it was also great to hear their new tracks in a live setting.
