Welcome to part 2 of our Alternative Eurovision song contest. Here we bring you all the remaining countries from Latvia to United Kingdom. If you missed part 1, you can see it here - PART ONE

Don’t forget to leave your comments (polite or otherwise) on our Twitter @roomthirteenmag or Facebook and let us know who you liked, hated and would have preferred to have seen.

Part 2 kicks off in the Baltic region with….

LATVIA
BLOODY HEELS.

A lot of influences of 80’s hair rock can be found here but this new up and coming band from Latvia do it well and according to our sources, put on a great show.

LITHUANIA
COLOURS OF BUBBLES.

Another of our sources, this time Lithuanian, recommended COB to us. While they may be on the lighter side compared to some bands we have here, this track shows they have a lot of quality about them.

MACEDONIA
CHROMATIC POINT.

Time for something a little different. Macedonian rockers Chromatic Point are not afraid to break the mould and push the progressive rock sound to new levels. That is exactly what they have done with this track where they have teamed up with folk outfit Synthesis.

MALTA
CABLE35.

Maltese trio are no strangers to live in the UK, especially up in Yorkshire. Their grunge rock sound has always been superb live on stage.

MOLDOVA
HARMASAR.

No official video yet from Folk Metal outfit Harmasar, just means the music does the talking here.

MONTENEGRO
PLACID ART.

This video comes with a warning! Video is extremely graphic and not suitable for the younger viewers! Placid Art don’t hold back with their slow heavy riffs and gore fest of a video.

NETHERLANDS
ALL FOR NOTHING.

Our Dutch entry may be known to some over here and to be honest, deserve to be known by a lot more with their in your face kick ass hardcore rock.

NORWAY
SASSY KRAIMSPRI.

Another artist not unfamiliar to these shores and one we are determined to catch live next time on the basis of this track. You can catch Sassy Kraimspri live in Manchester on 28, 29 and 30th May as part of Indie Week Europe, see their facebook for further information.

POLAND
SELLISTERNIUM.

Polish outfit, Sellisternium, may well have the longest track of our feature, the sinister sounding riffs help make this one a rollercoaster of styles. We like rollercoasters.

PORTUGAL
PLUS ULTRA.

This track from Plus Ultra showcases the musical talent and their love of distorted guitars, something sorely missing so far. This video is simple but highly effective.

ROMANIA
THE HOUR GLASS.

The only video we could find of our Romanian entry were live recordings, which basically sounded as good as any studio recordings we heard, which just shows the quality of The Hour Glass.

RUSSIA
SIBERIAN MEAT GRINDER .

While Russia may currently be the Millwall of the world - no one likes them, they don’t care - thankfully music is bigger and better than politics and we certainly do like Siberian Meat Grinder. Not so sure about that band name though?

SAN MARINO
THE PHOENIX BAND.

With a population of just over 30,000, San Marino was quite possibly the hardest one to find an entry for. Thankfully The Phoenix Band crossed our path and these girls can rock. Unfortunately, not many videos of them to choose from, so here is a live performance of them covering Skid Row.

SERBIA
DEMIST.

Once we heard Female fronted outfit Demist, we knew we wanted them as our Serbian entry. This track would not be out of place at any of the big festivals let alone rock venues up and down the country.

SLOVENIA
HELLCATS.

Slovenian all girl rock band, Hellcats, are a good old fashioned rock outfit. We are guessing they must have been pretty cold filming this video.

SPAIN
CORPORE.

From an all-girl outfit to all guys from Spain in the form of Corpore. This track has pretty much everything in its 5 minutes, Corpore certainly don’t hold back.

SWEDEN
BLACK MAGIC FOOLS.

Sweden is another one of those countries which have produced countless bands that have not just done well here but globally too. So, just as with our German entry, we have delved deep into the Swedish music scene to let Black Magic Fools represent their country.

SWITZERLAND
DERIVATE.

Our penultimate entry sees Swiss quartet Derivate rock into the competition. This track has plenty of twists making it 6 minutes of pure listening pleasure.

UNITED KINGDOM
BLACK MOTH.

Last up we have us and what was the hardest decision to make as we know so many bands that deserve to be here. However, it all came down that Black Moth have a track called Room 13 and for some reason we love the title! Yes, we are that shallow but let’s be honest, this track is bloody good anyway. Do no miss this lot supporting L7 next month - a top live act.

Well done to all of you that have made it to here. Thanks to all the bands taking part, many have been helpful in putting this together. But a big thanks goes to all of them to proving no matter where you are in Europe, there are always bands sharing the love for rock.

And if you are brave enough, here is a montage of all the official entries…..

Yeah, ours was better.
