A really loud CD

High up on the bill in support of two of the biggest acts of the festival, The Libertines certainly drew a busy crowd. The pit was absolutely packed, and giddy with anticipation as the band took to the stage.

Unfortunately, despite an adequate set, it was unfounded.

They may as well have just put the CD on really loud. Playing for almost an hour, not once did they do an altered version of a song, or interact with the audience, or indeed do anything to warrant such a prolific slot at Leeds Festival 2004. Still, they played solidly, and the crowd warmed well to them. It wasn’t a terrible slot by The Libertines, just a slightly underwhelming one, considering all that it could have been.
