Ga Ga's Don't Dissapoint
Any band scheduled on the same day as Black Sabbath and Velvet Revolver is going to be in luck as there will surely be big crowds to be had, and so it proves to be for The Ga Ga's (although to be fair there is a proportion of the crowd here to see them). Their debut album, released in February ('Tonight The Midway Shines'), has received rave reviews from all quarters and it only remains to be seen if they can reproduce it in a live environment.

The Ga Ga's play harmonious, intelligent rock music and they work the stage like seasoned professionals. They swap places and take it in turns to stand on the monitors at the front. Certainly more rock than metal in sound but they have a hard enough edge to appeal across the board.

Today The Ga Ga's go down extremely well and it's not too hard to see why. Second song of the set features a long drawn out instrumental intro showing that these guys have a little extra something about them. If anything there is a little too much rock posturing going on but The Ga Ga's get away with it because they have the songs to back it up.

The vocalist has a good range and the harmonies from the rest of the band support him to good effect. Their overall effect is amplified by the fact that the sound in the Napster tent is the best I've heard for any band all weekend thus far. The Ga Ga's half hour set is long enough for them to make their mark and I wouldn't be surprised to see album sales go up on the back of it.

The crowd is well up for this, the front rows clap and sing along throughout, and when the band does leave the stage it is to rousing applause.
